Standard & Professional Edition Features

How to Choose the Right Edition for Your Company

2D DESIGNER V2007 is only available in the Professional Edition.

2D DESIGNER V2004 software comes in two different editions: the Professional Edition and the Standard Edition. The two editions are included in the price of the software, and user may choose to install both editions on the same system. During installation, you may select the software version most suitable for your company.

  • The Professional Edition offers robust project management tools to allow you to configure each customer or project with its own specific settings such as piping specifications, drafting standards and layering schemes. You can also customize the material output formats for the project. This edition is suitable for consulting firms involved with many customers and projects.

    Choose the Professional Edition when:

    • You wish to benefit from the comprehensive new project management tools
    • You wish to benefit from the new material management system which allows you to generate customized material reports and BOMs
    • You are a new 2D DESIGNER user and are not used to the way the software operated in the past versions

  • The Standard Edition includes basic project management tools, flexibility to change layering and drafting standards, and a predefined bill of material output format. This edition is suitable when project settings are not changed frequently.

    Choose the Standard Edition when:

    • You accustomed to the previous versions of 2D DESIGNER and are quite satisfied with its functionality
    • You are upgrading from a previous 2D DESIGNER version in the middle of a project to ensure minimal downtime
    • You do not wish to retrain staff on the new features of the Professional Edition
    • You don’t wish to use the new project management and material management tools in the Professional Edition

Important Note: Both editions utilize the same license which allows customers to choose the edition most suitable for their immediate needs. Customers can switch from one edition to the other without any additional cost.
